Susan Beth Wilhelm is a native to the Tidewater Virginia area, growing up on the Chesapeake Bay. Her admiration for the coast, nature and wildlife is the inspiration for most of her paintings. The expression of vivid color is demonstrated throughout her paintings in watercolor and watercolor batik. Now living in the southwest, her work reflects the richness of southwest heritage.
Beth has been developing her ability since a young child. She has studied under regionally acclaimed artist in Virginia, Alabama, Oklahoma and Florida. While she taught formal drawing and painting to adult, collegiate, high school and elementary age students she enjoyed sharring the excitement of her students' creations.
Presently, Beth exhibits in galleries in Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma and Virginia. She conducts classes, workshops, lectures and demonstrations at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum and locations in Chickasha, Edmond, Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tulsa. A member of the American Watercolor Society and has received noted recognition, and 2D-1st Place for her work.
